After wildlife officials in Hamburg, Germany, had been notified by concerned locals a full investigation was launched into what appeared to be animal abuse. After exhausting several avenues of possibilities, ruling out various potential sources such as contaminants, poisons, rats, etc.. the cause was traced to crows.     At long last Obsidian's Jason Campbell has agreed to chat! Distracting the public with an abundance of live shows, they've secretly been working on a new album. Giggling like teenagers we talk about the band's multinational origins, Jason's start in music and inability to walk away from the back end of things, as well as the distant future playing the casino circuit. DK: How long have you been with Obsidian? JC: Four years this September. We got our first lead guitar player shortly after we formed. It would have been       less than a year after that when he left to go back to school. Daniel came into the band and we haven't       looked back since. He's been in the band for about three years. The "original guitarist" didn't play on any       of the records. He didn't write any of the music so he sort of existed, but he didn't. DK: (laughs) He was a dream. JC: (laughs) Yeah, he was more of a vapour. (laughs) DK: He'

    I woke up this morning to the cat being extra snuggly. As I opened my eyes I was shocked to see a large bloody wound on his neck. I realized that I was now covered in his blood and jumped out of bed to sort out his injuries. Being a cat, however, meant that he didn't want to be caught. Not knowing how bad it was I couldn't risk him being stressed out and losing any more blood so I bribed him to come out.     As soon as he was within arm's reach I scooped him up and ran to the bathroom where I discovered that he got into my FX kit.  And that's how Morbo became the greatest FX artist of his generation. Morbo is a jerk.     To clarify, I do casualty simulation special effects. A tube of concentrated blood had burst in my kit and spilled everywhere. It was a nightmare. Cleaning was a huge task so I was going through the pieces slowly, de-gore-ing everything bit by bit. After a while the counter was covered in wet little tubs of make-up as well as the ghoul

    Over the last four years Mark Hughes has come a long way in comedy. At the moment Hughes is half the driving force behind the ever-expanding Comedy Shocker series. Starting as a novelty and growing with every show it's quickly become a staple in the Vancouver comedy scene.
